BAGUIO CITY – Insuns, a brotherhood for sports and fellowship recently conducted their 2018 Insuns Sportsfest with the theme: Insuns Reunited held at the Piraso Resort here, on April 8, 2018, gathering members from Baguio City, La Trinidad, and nearby Urdaneta City, representing their chapters in the tri-sport fellowship games of basketball, darts, and billards.
Basketball Champion Evangelista Chapter lead winners after the day’s competitions with trophies, medals and cash prizes.
Also getting awards are 1st Runner-Up Insuns Administration; 2nd Runner-Up, combined Irisan/Balili La Trinidad/Loakan Chapters
Selected in the mythical five are Rene Laguit (Administration), Jessy Mamaril and Julio Echavea (Irisan), Nanoy Mariano and Jhay-R Garcia (Evangelista). Topping the awards was Jao Estrada of the Evangelista Chapter as the “Most Valuable Player” in the sports fest basketball event.
Meanwhile, Balili, La Trinidad chapter tandem of Henrix Mayomis and Paul John Dalmones bag the championship while Arvin Manuyag and Marlon Cabanban of Irisan landed 1st runner ups in the Darts Mens’ Doubles event. Likewise, Irisan chapter’s Bryan Palit-ang netted the championship trophy for the nine balls billards, while Ceasar “Boy” Idio of Evangelista rested 1st runner-up in the contest.
Fellowship followed after a simple awarding ceremony graced by Insuns founders Dr. Reinald “Vereck” Ruiz and Mr. Rolando Escat who, in their privilege speeches, lauded participation of the different chapters.
They also amplified to the members that Insuns was founded by sports enthusiasts during a game of basketball with Redendor Nisperos, Venerio Viloria, Michael Tabangcura, Javy Villanueva and Vherald Arreola(+), in 1997 and reiterated that Insuns is not a fraternity but a group aimed in discovering talents and skills of individuals in sports in the locality and providing them a venue where these talents can be honed.
Further they said that the winners in the sports fest will represent the Insuns in future competitions in Baguio City and other areas.
