BAGUIO CITY- Conforming with Executive Order No. 26 series of 2017 entitled, “Providing for the establishment of smoke-free environments in public and enclosed places”, John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) marks the final push towards becoming a smoke-free place. Business enterprises in the special economic zone has signed the smoke-free pledge during the locators’ meeting conducted last April 18, 2018.
The locators, by affixing their signatures in the pledge, submit themselves to the laws, rules and regulations promoting a cleaner, healthier and clearer air within the Camp and commit that their establishments become smoke-free.
Furthermore, they were reminded that public health should take precedence over commercial and business interests and were encouraged not to smoke or use any tobacco products.
Gradually, JHMC is gearing towards a smoke-free Camp John Hay. With the passage of the EO, the JHMC, through its Security Services Department (SSD), strictly implements the no smoking zones within the Camp.
Being the administrator of the John Hay special economic zone, JHMC continually adheres to the various mandates of the government relative to environmental protection and preservation.
The smoke free pledge was administered by Mr. Zaldy Bello, JHMC Special Economic Zone Administration Department Manager, who is a health enthusiast himself and an advocate for a healthy lifestyle.
