The defending champion Joseans rose to the second spot in the team standings with twin victories last week in second season of the Laity’s Cup at the San Jose Gym, La Trinidad, Benguet. The Joseans dropped the Theresians Little Way, 103-91 last Saturday, January 24 and routed to the tune of a 52-point victory the Mcdonalds – La Trinidad, 125-72, to get their 9th win.
In the other games last Saturday, the Shepherds are trying to finish strong and go out on a winning note as they are already out of the playoff picture with a squeaking 79-78 win over Victory Global. The Prodigals failed to capitalized on their hot run as they forfeit their match against the Knights of Columbus.
In the other Wednesday games: The Cordillera Career Development College Employee Admirals strengthen their hold on the top spot by their 105-87 victory over the La Trinidad Benguet International Baptist Church-Escudo. The Escudo dropped to seventh place and became on of the teams in danger of falling out in securing a playoff slot. Likewise, the Theresians bounced back with a victory from their Saturday loss. They hacked out an 82-70 win against the Stars on 40’s to close their campaign with an 8-5 record, a playoff slot and possibly a twice to beat advantage depending on the results of the remaining games.
