KABAYAN, Benguet – The Rural Health Unit (RHU) in Kabayan is undergoing a renovation as it is poised to become a Super RHU in response to the growing healthcare needs of the municipality and its neighboring localities.
Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas has earmarked PhP16 million for the project, with the initial PhP6 million already released for the first phase which has recently been completed. The remaining PhP10 million is slated for implementation soon.
In collaboration with the municipal government headed by Mayor Florante Bantales Jr., Governor Diclas has committed support for additional machinery and equipment for the facility’s future operations as a Super RHU.
Meanwhile, on top of the PhP16 million support from the provincial government, the Department of Health (DOH) also provided PhP4 million for another phase of the project, which has recently been started, to ensure a continuous progression until its completion.
Mayor Bantales, Jr. expressed hope that the entire project will be completed by next year. With its expansion and improvement, Mayor Bantales said they are planning to create additional manpower such as nurses, laboratory technicians, and other human resources needed with the upgrading of the health facility.
