TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Along with the blessings received by the twelve newly appointed and promoted employees today is the great news from Governor James S. Edduba who informed the public on the recent updates on the ongoing provincial government programs and developments specifically on social services under the health sector and employment.

The Governor disclosed that the administration is doing its best to find ways to implement the salary increase for the provincial government job order workers this 2023 from PhP300 to PhP380 per day. He also urged department heads to look into their office budget to see the possibilities of providing the said amount as compensation for job orders.

“Tatta nga tawen ket we are going to implement day 380 pesos per job order. Ipakaasik kanyayo nga department heads nga isubmit yo kuma diyay makita yo nga mabalin nga mairenew specially kadagiyay programs nga kasapulan talaga ken nu kasanu nga umanay diyay pondo tapno agbalin nga 380 iti per day da.”

The governor also ensured that services in health will not be hampered despite the challenges encountered during the pandemic and while there is an ongoing adjustment this year.

“We will see how we are going to improve and cope with the recent challenges on health systems, and other services ken no aniya iti ikasta tayo nga mangsolbar pay kadagiyay dadduma habang ur-urayen tayo iti budget tayo.”

For the provincial health facilities such as the Kalinga Provincial Hospital, and district hospitals, the governor has issued a memorandum order extending the services of job orders detailed thereat to continue their duties expecting the same rate until January 31, 2023 while the administration is looking at the approval and possibilities in increasing the wages the following month.

For the upcoming 4th Bodong Festival this 2023, the Governor reported that the different committees are working on their designated tasks in preparation for the 28th Founding Anniversary. He is urging the support of all, especially to the highlight activity, Awong Chi Gangsa Agtu’n Chi Banga chaired by Bishop Prudencio Andaya.

“Daytoy first two months will be very busy because of the preparation on how we are going to put the Kalinga Founding Anniversary and Bodong Festival in an international record. No mabalin koma ket international nga quality aramiden tayo as the Bishop, being the Chairperson of the AWONG, is doing his best and has been exerting a lot of efforts for us to be placed in the Guinness World Book of Records having established the greatest number of banga and the number of gongs that have been played.”

Meanwhile, the Governor also invited the members of the Kapehan Body for a meeting on January 9, 2023 at the third floor of the Kalinga Children’s Ward.

The invitation is to formally inform the members and the community that the said facility is being improved and is also being prepared for its purpose.

According to Provincial Engr. Jude Rosendo Dakiwag, with the governor’s support and supervision, the third floor of the Kalinga Children’s Ward is ready to be used as the contractor finished the installation of the tiles, electrical works, air conditioning units, water systems, dividers, glassed windows, comfort rooms, septic tanks, and others. The Governor also coordinated with KAELCO to secure the electrical transformer for the facility this week.

Edduba began his message with expression of gratitude to the support that the provincial officialdom gave in making Kalinga a progressive province and ended it with words of encouragement.

“Let’s face this 2023 with plenty of hope and lots of expectation that something good will happen to our province, to our families. Again to my provincial government family, let’s work together for a Lumin-awa Kalinga.”
