TABUK CITY, Kalinga – To ensure the safety of the citizens of Kalinga, including Tabuk City, the provincial government along with the different municipal governments of the province, the city government, the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Fire Protection, the Land Transportation Office, among other agencies, attended a planning and workshop for the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan for the province at the Las Vegas Hotel from November 9-11, 2022.
In order to create policies, programs, initiatives, services, and actions to prevent, reduce, or avoid problems, the POPS Plan’s objective is to assess the various problems, issues, and difficulties pertaining to peace, order, and public safety.
A number of index and non-index crimes, ongoing informal settlement, children in conflict with the law, the spread of illegal drugs, the frequency of tribal and clan disputes, the existence of communist terrorist groups, ongoing traffic accidents, fire incidents, and other issues are discussed.
