City officials recently declared May 6-11, 2024 as the Multiple District 301 Lions Convention Week in the city.
Under Resolution No. 074, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the said event will be an opportunity for the members of various Lions Clubs from around the world to network, collaborate, attend workshops, and engage with other stakeholders for them to be able to expand the needed support for their various civic-oriented activities in their respective areas of operation.
The council claimed that the said event will also be an avenue for the members of Lions Clubs around the world to strategize on how to achieve the club’s mission, vision and goals as one club.
The Lions Club International District 301 Lions Convention will be held from May 9-11, 2024 in the city and it is expected to be attended by more than 2,000 members from and under its multiple groups that are operating in their respective places.
The council also approved the suspension of Ordinance No. 1, series of 2003 or the Baguio City Number Coding Scheme as amended during the said week only for the attendees of the Lions International Convention.
Further, the use of the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center shall be solely be dedicated for the convention proper on May 10, 2024 and at the Melvin Jones grounds on May 9 and 11, 2024 for other related activities and that those venues be charged to the organizers at a discounted rate pursuant to existing rules and regulations governing the use of city-owned facilities.
