SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Six students from La Union National High School (LUNHS) bagged medals in the recently concluded 2017 Milo Little Olympics held at Baguio Athletic Bowl from September 8 to 10, 2017.
Jaymark Balicha, a Grade 10 student, won five medals consisting one gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Jayson Atos, a Grade 10 student, won three medals consisting two silver and one bronze medal. Niño Landingin, a Grade 10 student, won two silver medals. Dyrom Yoro, a Grade 8 student, also won two silver medals. Dranreb Emocling, a Grade 10 student, won one silver medal. Lastly, Mark Anthony Torio, a Grade 8 student, won fourth place.
City Mayor Hermenegildo Dong Gualberto congratulated the six student athletes for taking home a total of 13 medals during a courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office last Monday, September 11, 2017. The three-day sports event was attended by 5,000 young athletes coming from Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Cordillera Administrative Region. They competed in different sport events such as Arnis, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football, Gymnastics, Karatedo, Scrabble, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis and Volleyball.
