TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government recently welcomed the Municipal Health Office (MHO) personnel from Malibcong, Abra, led by OIC MHO Lea Nadin Pilien, to Tabuk City for their benchmarking activity.
The MHO and City Health Services Office (CHSO) staff took part in a cultural community dance that the city hosted at the City Hall Canopy upon the guests’ arrival.
“Thank you for choosing Tabuk as your destination in your benchmarking. You will come to know our services and processes that you can compare to your local government,” Mayor Darwin Estrañero said in his warm welcome to the guests.
In the course of the benchmarking, Estrañero highlighted a few of the honors the city has received with for its national COVID-19 pandemic response during the peak of the rapid spread of the virus, and after the COVID-19 Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Molecular Laboratory was established.
He emphasized that the city was also recognized in January in Laos with the ASEAN Clean Tourist City award.
“In your benchmarking, you will learn more insights from local government units that received awards. We are happy to share with you our best practices,” Estrañero added.
During the learning experience, Dr. Henrietta Bagayao, who leads the CHSO, also presented the staffing patterns of their department under the organizational structure of the city.
She stated that all 43 barangays in the city are served by four rural health units (RHUs). She also gave a brief introduction to the staff members of the RHUs and the CHSO’s four divisions.
Pilien, speaking on behalf of the MHO, Malibcong said that they will share with their LGU what they have learned during their exposure and apply those learnings in their hometown.
Additionally, with the combined efforts of all the staff, nurse Jandel Taguiam from Health Promotions and Communications Services highlighted some of the best practices of CHSO.
Additionally, he talked about the goals, accomplishments, and ongoing initiatives that the CHSO carries out all year long.
The guests were also given tours of the Legislative Building, which houses the Office of the Vice Mayor and the SP Hall, as well as City Hall, specifically the Office of the City Mayor. They also went to the RTCPR Molecular Laboratory in Agbannawag, Tabuk, in the four RHUs, and the CHSO. By PIO Tabuk
