TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 49-year old man died after he was shot by a still unidentified bonnet-wearing assailant in his residence at Dagupan West, here, Wednesday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Roberto Quejada Occidental, 49, married and a resident of Dagupan West, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Witnesses informed police investigators that the victim was outside his residence answering a call on his cellphone when he was approached by the suspect, who was described to be wearing a black jacket and brown bonnet, and shot him several times.
The victim managed to go inside his residence after the shooting incident but he was followed by the suspect and again shot him several times before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
He was rushed by concerned residents to a private hospital before being transferred to another hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on his head and body.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells and a deformed slug of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The motive of the incident is still unknown while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the probers.
