MANKAYAN, Benguet- The district of Mankayan held its 3rd Informing Yearly Accomplishment, Monitoring Activities and Networking (IYAMAN) at CPJ Theater, Lepanto, Paco, Mankayan on Oct 26.
Butch San B. Mendizabal, the Communications Representative of Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company together with Karen B. Tegan, the School Head of Lepanto Elementary School and Hon. Aldrin C. Camiling, one of the Counselors welcomed the participants of the said event.
Meanwhile, Tito C. Bestre, Education Program Supervisor for Alternative Learning System gave the overview of the 3rd IYAMAN. “This seems to be the state of the nation address in the Department of Education (DepEd),” he said as he started his part. He ended the overview by challenging the DepEd personnel to strengthen partnerships to deliver excellent access, quality and governance.
On the other hand, Dr. Dela Rosa V. Delmas, Mankayan Public Schools District Supervisor reported on the facilitating and hindering factors of every performance indicators such as enrolment and failure rate. Moreover, he informed the participants on the achievements of every school as well as senior high offerings.
In addition, Zhimar F.Garriga, a school nurse in Mankayan recounted the Health and Nutrition Status of learners in the district while Geraldine B. Concepcion gave updates on Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).
The morning session ended by awarding certificates of recognition to generous stakeholders and performing schools and DepEd personnel.
Hon. Atty. Materno R. Luspian, Mayor of Mankayan concluded the day through an inspiring message comparing teachers to candles.
The conduct of IYAMAN 2018 is pursuant to Division Memorandum no. 240 s. 2018. The schools division of Benguet will hold one-day major Annual Education Stakeholders’ Conference dubbed as IYAMAN in the different schools districts.
This aims to share data-driven status of basic education in each schools district, strengthen accountability among internal and external stakeholders and provide avenue for the objective evaluation of accomplishments relative to the implementation of the articulated basic education curriculum and plan adjustment and intervention to address gaps.
