ATOK, Benguet March 24 – A 32-year old suspected mentally-ill man was found dead by concerned citizens above a water tank at Pakyaw, Paoay, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Marcos Calixto Japson, 32, single, mentally ill, a native and a resident of Balangabang, Paoay, Atok, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed some farmers were tending to their crops in the area when they accidentally discovered the lifeless body of the victim above the water tank.
The cadaver was subjected to the appropriate health procedures by Municipal Health Officer Dra. Alice Pasking and found that the victim died due to alleged starvation.
Relatives of the victim refused to subject the cadaver to the appropriate autopsy.
