Baguio City – The passers of the just concluded May, 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examinations can now have their oath in Baguio City. The ceremonies will be held on June 28, 2016, Tuesday, 9 o’clock in the morning at Fortune Hongkong Seafood Restaurant Function Hall, Otek Street, here.
The event for the newly registered Certified Public Accountants is jointly organized and hosted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Baguio-Benguet Chapter.
The event will be graced by Hon. Arlyn S. Villanueva, CPA, a member of the Board of Accountancy. She will be the key note speaker and Oath Administrator. Also expected to grace the events are Dir. Teofilo Gaius M. Sison, Jr., the Regional Director of the Baguio Regional Office of the PRC, Christopher U. Ismael, outgoing President of Baguio-Benguet PICPA, Rhad Vic F. Estoque, the incoming President, and Rebecca S. Occidental, the local chapter’s Vice President for Professional Development, along with the rest of the chapter officers.
The different deans and accountancy program chairs or heads of Colleges and Universities offering accountancy courses are also expected to be present in the event. The five schools in the locality currently offering accountancy are Saint Louis University (SLU), University of Baguio (UB), and University of the Cordilleras (UC) in Baguio City and the Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) and the Kings College of the Philippines (KCP) in La Trinidad.
All five schools have successful passers during the recent examinations. SLU has the most number of passers with 120 to go along with 18 conditioned examinees. It obtained a 59.41% passing rate from a total of 202 candidates. UC was best in percentage with a 70.15% passing rate. It had 47 passing candidates out of a total of 67 takers. Six of their examinees obtained conditional marks.
UB had nine passers out of 19 takers for a 47.37% passing rate. CCDC, meanwhile, attained its highest mark in terms of number of passing candidates. Of the 55 hopefuls, 16 of them made it successfully for a 29.09% passing rate. The 16 mark was their highest in the school’s history. They also had four conditional marks. KCP was six out of 14 for a 30% passing rate.
The national mark this year was at 42.84% A total of 2,967 successful examinees out of 6,925 candidates resulted after four grueling days of answering examinations.
The inductees who will be attending the oath-taking ceremonies will be given their PRC license and Board Certificate during the event.
Ticket price is P600 for inductees and P600 for every guest inclusive of lunch. Inductees can invite as many guests as they want provided they buy a ticket for them. Ticket sales and confirmation of attendance is until June 24, 2016.
