BAGUIO CITY – The new leadership of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Baguio-Benguet Chapter (PCCI-BBC) assured the public of aggressive reforms that will bring the organization closer to the hearts of the people without compromising the individuals interests of the members composing the group.
Modesto B. Imayaho, PCCI-BBC president, said one of the priorities of the new set of officers is to strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprises in the localities through interactive communication that is geared towards higher productivity, competitiveness and sustainability.
“WE have to work hand in hand with concerned government agencies in order to empower the upliftment of the micro, small and medium enterprises which comprise most of the businesses in the Baguio and Benguet areas,” Imayaho stressed.
The CCI-BBC committed to serve as the voice of the business community and an independent forum for the development of a consensus of the business community in the city and the province on matters of local and national concerns.
Further, Imayaho assured the business community that the group will represent its interest in all for a in order to contribute the crafting of business-friendly policies among the concerned local governments.
More importantly, the new PCCI-BBC president cited that the group will foster closer relations, understanding and cooperation among all sectors of the economy, particularly in Baguio and Benguet.
At the same time, the local PCCI chapter will enhance the establishment of linkages with the PCCI national and other regional and global business organizations in order to contribute in improving the business climate in the locality.
Imayaho claimed the group will also be actively involved in the delivery of services that will be beneficial to the economy in general and to its members in particular.
According to him, the PCCI-BBC will also spearhead in the advocacy of the business sector for it to be able to voice out their sentiments in policies being crafted so as not to be detrimental to the growth and promotion of businesses in the different areas of the city and province.
He added the group will also embark on membership development through the promotion of unity and cooperation among members through strengthened the spirit of brotherhood through the big brother relationship and by fostering awareness and understanding what chamber movement is all about among the members as well as the business community.
According to him, there is still bright prospects for the growth of businesses in Baguio and Benguet, thus, the need to empower people to be actively involved in the promotion of businesses for the development of numerous economic enterprise in the Baguio and Benguet areas.
