LUNA, Apayao – The devastating effects of Super Typhoon (ST) Egay in the province of Apayao left huge destruction on the agricultural sector, infrastructure, and lives of many people, but the province is getting back up through the efforts and help of various sectors, agencies, and companies.
On August 7, another help came from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) with a donation of 500 bags of rice.
The NGCP said this is in accordance with its Typhoon Egay Relief Operations under the Calamity Affected Relief Efforts (CARE) project in collaboration with the provincial government through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO).
This nationwide program covers activities and initiatives such as the Wildlife and Nature Guardians (WINGS), Calamity Affected Relief Efforts (CARE), Biodiversity Conservation (Formerly TREE Project), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA).
Said 500 bags of rice were distributed in the province earlier on August 7, 2023 to various families who suffered much from the recent calamity.
250 families in Apayao received the aforementioned food aid, each receiving two bags (10 kilos) of rice. By Krizza Joy Castillo
