SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan March 16 – The No. 7 drug personality in nearby San Jacinto town died after he was shot to death by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a buy bust operation when he attempted to engage the operating troops into a gun fight along Aramal Road, Binday, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the wanted drug personality who died in the encounter as Ernesto Villanueva Velasco alias “Ernie”, 39, a resident of Bolo, San Jacinto, Pangasinan and presently residing at barangay Nibaliw, Magliba, San Fabian, Pangasinan.
The operating troops were able to buy from the drug personality a sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange for P2,000 but when he noticed that he was dealing with law enforcers, he attempted to escape by accelerating his motorcycle but he lost control of the sale and fell on the ground.
When the operating troops went near him, the drug personality pulled out his gun and fired at them prompting the law enforcers to fire back.
The victim was rushed to the San Fabian District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
