BAGUIO CITY – The wife of an Overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from barangay Engineer’s Hill here was one of the 57 winners of the SM Store Shopping Spree who welcomed the year 2017 with a smile.
Felipa Banda Sanlao, who relies on selling items sent by her husband from abroad to augment the income of her family, was the lucky winner of a P100,000 shopping spree at any SM retail store after she emerged winner in the electronical draw conducted last week through the partnership of Master Card and the SM Store.
Sanlao admitted that she suspected that the SM Store promo was a scam that is why she did not entertain the representatives that visited her in her house at first but she was later convinced by her friends and relatives that she was a winner considering the integrity and credibility of the giant chain of malls and the letter that was sent to her informing her about the prize that she won in the promo.
“I was hesitant at first to accept that I won in a promo that I did not actually participate in because I was not aware that the SM Store had a promo that time. I am happy now that I am enjoying the privilege of having to shop for my family using the prize that I won,” Sanlao stressed.
Felipa and her husband are blessed with three sons: a lawyer who is now working with a government agency, an accountant, and a Grade 11 student at the St. Louis University high school.
She said that she will use the entitlement to shop for the needs her family in the various SM retail stores where they are entitled to shop using the said privilege.
The SM Store Shop Your Way to a P100,000 shopping spree is a joint project of Master Card and SM Store.
Under the guidelines of the promo, every P3,000 single receipt purchase using a Philippine issued Master Card at the SM Store will entitle the cardholder with one electronic raffle entry that allowed the 57 winners the chance to win the prize of P100,000 shopping spree at any SM retail store.
Arnel Raymond Aguas, assistant vice president for Northern Luzon of SM Store, said the shopping spree promotion is one of the many exciting promotions of the SM Store and encouraged the cardholders to watch out for the SM Store’s more exciting promotions for shoppers this year.
Within a week, Aguas said SM Store will be coming out with the mechanics of their upcoming promo for the first quarter this year to entice cardholders to continue shopping in the different SM Stores located in various malls nationwide.
The prizes for the winners in other malls were simultaneously given to them in separate awarding ceremonies at the SM Stores in their respective places wherein they will decide when to use the privilege they acquired for continuously shopping in the SM Store for the needs of their families.
Aguas assured that SM Store will continue to develop more attractive promotions in the year to help entice more shoppers to patronize the products sold in any of the SM retail stores.
