TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A team from the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the city government through the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) conducted an inspection today on the ongoing construction of day care center in Sitio Pa-o, Brgy. Nambucayan.
This joint inspection was conducted to ensure the safety and longevity of the facility by identifying any potential issues or hazards that may affect its integrity.
Said project which is implemented under the PAMANA, has a total fund allocation amounting to PhP1,206,750 on a 48 sq.m lot donated by the barangay. It has two toilets and a wash area.
According to Chen Keight Patangoa, the area coordinator for PAMANA here, the center is already 80% complete. The construction started on November 8, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed on February 24.
Patongao made clear that the fund will cover only chairs and tables and does not include the purchase of new learning materials like books and educational toys for the 19 enrolled children.
A daycare parent conveyed her gratitude for the new facility awarded by PAMANA, stating that it provides a safer and more conducive learning environment for the Sitio Pa-o day care children.
