A total of Php 3,620,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were discovered by PROCOR cops during the anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in the mountainous area of Kibungan & Bakun in Benguet, and in Tinglayan, Kalinga while an individual is now facing charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after being arrested in a buy-bust operation in Baguio City on July 20 and 21, 2022.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, personnel of 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company were conducting a patrol in Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet when they discovered a total of 10 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php1,200,000.00 in Sitio Dalipey.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet, joint operatives of Bakun MPS, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO were able to discover a total of 2,100 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 420,000.00 while conducting anti-illegal drug operations in Sitio Lengyatan.
Moreover, in Kalinga, joint personnel of PDEU of Kalinga PPO, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Regional Intelligence Division of PROCOR, and Naval Forces Northern Luzon discovered 10,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of Php 2,000,000.00 in Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan.
All discovered marijuana plants and marijuana stalks were burned on-site by the operatives.
Meanwhile, in a buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City, operatives of the Baguio City Police Office arrested suspect Eurelyn Hinayon Patenio after she sold one plastic sachet of shabu weighing 0.89 grams with a standard drug price of Php 3,400.00.
Onsite inventory was conducted in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by Prosecutor Philip Cesar R Castel Punong Barangay Pablo Pawe, Jr of Barangay Pinget.
