As part of the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP, a total of P5,900,204.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized and two drug personalities were arrested in the weeklong anti-illegal drugs operations conducted by the PRO Cordillera cops from December 17-23, 2023.
According to the records from the Regional Operations Division, one of the suspects was arrested in Apayao after being caught in possession of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.03 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P204.00 while the other suspect, identified as a High Value Individual, was arrested in Mountain Province after being caught as the cultivator of 6,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of P1,200,000.00.
The same report disclosed that a total of 23,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of P4,700,000.00 were discovered in a marijuana eradication operation conducted in the province of Benguet.
All the marijuana plants discovered were burned by the operatives after proper documentation, while follow-up operations are being conducted to identify other possible marijuana cultivators.
Further, the PRO Cordillera cops continue to inform the public about the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP through the conduct of barangay visitations and information operations in the Cordillera region.
