The immediate action of the Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga Police Provincial Office Police (PPO) led to the discovery of over P5M worth of marijuana bricks at Sitio Jangayoy, Brgy Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga on November 20, 2023.
According to reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the operatives of Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company received information that an unidentified male rider was transporting marijuana bricks from Tinglayan to Tabuk City and another tip-off about a motorcycle rider who unloaded a baggage beside the road at Sitio Jangayoy.
Acting on the said information, police operatives immediately conducted a search along the national road towards Brgy Poblacion, Lubuagan and found a duffle bag partially covered with leaves and branches.
Upon inspection, the operatives discovered that the bag contained 49 pieces of marijuana bricks weighing more or less 49,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price of Php5,880,000.00.
Markings and inventory of the discovered pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of Barangay Kagawad John M Ta-od of Brgy Dangoy.
The recovered marijuana bricks were brought to Lubuagan MPS for proper documentation and transferred to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for examination while manhunt operation and a thorough investigation is still ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspect. (PRO CORDILLERA-PIO)
