TUBA, Benguet– More than P1.5 million worth of marijuana were recovered from two visitors who were earlier injured after their vehicle was involved in an accident along Kennon Road, particularly at Camp 4, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the arrested suspects as Jimmsie Galang Salazar, 40, resident of Bacoor, Cavite and Justine Jerome Baisa, 28, resident of San Mateo, Rizal.
Earlier, the suspects were involved in a vehicular traffic accident wherein their vehicle’s brake malfunctioned which caused the driven vehicle to flip.
When the personnel of BCPO Kennon Road Police Station 8 (PS8) arrived on the scene, a resident of the said place tipped that a box was thrown on the cliff by the two suspects.
Upon checking, 12 tubes of dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 12,000 grams with a standard drug price of P 1,440,000.00 were discovered by the operatives which prompted the immediate arrest of the two suspects.
Markings and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence recovered were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and duly witnessed by barangay Kagawad Domingo Wayan of barangay Camp Four and Dionisio Dennis Jr, media representative.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Tuba MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
