BONTOC, Mountain Province – More or less 1,000 fully-grown Marijuana plants with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P250,000.00 were uprooted at Sitio Tabao, within the disputed territorial boundary of Bun-ayan, Sabangan and Otucan, Bauko, both in Mountain Province at around 6:00 AM of May 31, 2016.
At about 10:20 AM of same day, the operatives received information that there were Marijuana plants hidden on a forested area about 50 meters away from the first plantation site. The team immediately went to the area and uprooted 20 fully-grown Marijuana plants.
Joint operatives from Sabangan Municipal Police Station, Mountain Province Provincial Public Safety Company, Provincial Intelligence Branch, Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch, Provincial Operations and Plans Branch and Mountain Province Police Provincial Office conducted the eradication.
The uprooted Marijuana plants were brought to Sabangan MPS in Sabangan, Mountain Province for disposition. No cultivators were arrested in the operation.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera leadership commended the collective support of the local government units and the community to eliminate all forms of illegal drugs which could be of great help in the national government’s anti-drug campaign and community awareness. PRO-Cor assures the public that the law enforcers and anti-narcotic operatives will strengthen the conduct of more anti-illegal drugs operations in the region.
