BAGUIO CITY – A 29-year old sales officer was injured after he was shot by a still unidentified armed suspect during a commotion inside a liquor establishment at Bakakeng Central, Marcos highway, here, Tuesday dawn.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, Acting City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the injured individual as Jay Viray Mojica, 29, married, sales officer, and a resident of TG Homes, Km.3, Marcos Highway, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his companions as well as the suspects were drinking in separate tables inside the establishment when a misunderstanding suddenly erupted between the two groups that resulted to a commotion.
At this juncture, the suspect pulled out his short firearm and shot the victim once but the latter to tried to grab the firearm from the former that caused it again to fire off hitting him on his left foot.
The suspects then rushed the victim to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment and immediately left the hospital using their still unidentified car.
The case is still undergoing thorough investigation by the responding police operatives to identify the involved suspects and the motive of the shooting incident.
