LA TRINIDAD, Benguet– People from the remote villages of the province wanting to avail of the services of concerned government agencies can now do so with the upcoming roll out of the Serbisyo caravan by the Office of Benguet Caretaker Congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eric Go Yap by December.
Kevin Edward See, Chief of Staff of Congressman Yap, said that the schedules and venues of the Serbisyo caravan are now currently being finalized with concerned government agencies to ensure the smooth roll out of the lawmaker’s public service program geared towards bringing closer to the people the necessary services that they need.
He added that aside from the medical needs of the people and the distribution of medicines, part of the Serbisyo caravan will include the issuance of clearance by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and passporting by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) so that people from the far flung communities will not flock to the urban centers just to avail of such important services.
Yap’s aide pointed out that the lawmaker does not want people from the remote communities to be deprived of the basic services from the concerned government agencies that is why he worked out the rolling out of the Serbisyo caravan to bring closer to the people the aforesaid services as part of his advocacy on genuine public service.
According to him, the caravan will be conducted in selected municipalities that will cater to their neighboring areas so that people will be able to immediately access the important services that will be used for their day to day activities.
Earlier, Congressman Yap launched his mobile tulong program during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine or the Luzonwide lockdown that paved the way for the distribution of relief assistance to residents in the different barangays who were heavily impacted by the enforcement of the protocols aside from bringing to the countryside basic services from the government.
The lawmaker had time and again reiterated in his public engagements that he will continue to work for the welfare of the people of Benguet as he already learned to embrace the culture of the indigenous people and the rich history of the province and that he will not allow Benguet to be deprived of whatever development projects being implemented by the government.
Congressman Yap asserted that Benguet will be one of the country’s prime tourist destinations in the future as he will aggressively work for the promotion of the province’s scenic tourist spots as must-see attractions so that people will be able to reap the fruits of development through the availability of jobs for qualified residents and sources of livelihood that will translate to countryside development in the future.
He stipulated that there will be enormous assistance that will be provided to the people in the province by next year as funds for the said purpose had been included in the budget of various government agencies that are in charge of providing such basic services for the benefit of the people of the province, especially those from the far flung areas who had been deprived of such services in the past.
