BANGUED, Abra – Personnel of the Abra provincial jail were able to confiscate from a committed inmate still undetermined volume of shabu from his possession during the conduct of the mandatory search prior to his being detained.
Police authorities identified the inmate as Jorly Blaza who was just been committed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) based in the province for alleged possession of illegal drugs.
Initial police investigation showed that after the said individual was committed to the jail by PDEA agents, the mandatory body search was conducted on him that resulted to the confiscation of two heat sealed sachets containing alleged white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
Charges of violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law are being prepared for filing against the inmate before the Abra provincial police office.
