City officials recently congratulated and commended the Catholic-run Saint Louis University (SLU) for making it as one of the shortlisted universities worldwide in the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024 for the category Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that SLU was shortlisted in that category, together with Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Lovely Professional University in India; Universiti Malaysia in Malaysia, Our Lady of Fatima University in Manila, Sri Lanka Institute of Information and Technology in Sri Lanka, and Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand.
Earlier, SLU was among the 80 finalists from 17 countries and territories shortlisted in the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024.
Further, SLU made it to the shortlist of 8 universities worldwide for the category Research Project: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Times Higher Education Awards is given to the individual or team at a higher education institution for innovative arts, humanities or social sciences research that has a far-reaching impact and has caught or has the potential to catch the imagination of the public.
Moreover, the ward is particular with evidence of significant or novel results, creative collaborations, and imaginative communication of research results.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the SLU administration for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
