BAGUIO CITY – The much-awaited 2024 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) and Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) kicked off today, May 1, in Baguio City, gathering over two thousand delegates including participants, coaches, and guests.
This year’s event, under the theme “Galing, Talino, at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng Matatag na Adhika,” highlights the exceptional skills, talents, and academic excellence of young learners.
Department of Education – Cordillera (DepEd CAR) Assistant Regional Director Dr. Ronald Castillo, in his opening message, underscored the significance of this gathering in showcasing the learners’ achievements and capabilities. He emphasized that the RFOT is a platform to celebrate the abundant talents and accomplishments of the students.
Moreover, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, serving as the Keynote Speaker, emphasized the important role of journalists in today’s era marked by fake news and misinformation. He lauded the creative skills and dedication of Cordilleran learners, recognizing their contributions to arts and crafts that resonate deeply and inspire others.
This year, more than 300 learners from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Apayao are participating, representing the province’s rich pool of talent and potential.
Furthermore, the RSPC and RFOT will identify the region’s representatives for the upcoming National Schools Press Conference and National Festival of Talents, slated to take place in Cebu City during the last week of May.
