Six barangays, located along the Dagupan- Bulanao provincial road were recently tapped to assist enforcers as a ‘dry run’ in managing traffic in Tabuk City.
The Dagupan- Bulanao route is a major thoroughfare traversing commercial areas in the city.
According to Tabuk City Police Station Advisory Council Chairperson Sandra Uyam, the activity was done through memorandum order from the city mayor to utilize the barangay Tanods of San Juan, Bulanao Centro, Appas, Magsaysay, Dagupan Centro and Bulanao Norte in the dry run.
“Daytoy a dry run ket panagadal met laeng nu kasano (ti) sistema a suruten tapno nasayaat iti panangisayangkat iti daytoy a programa,” Uyam said.
Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero she said is pushing for the conduct of a consultative meeting this week with the police, Land Transportation Office, Highway Patrol Group, Public Order and Safety Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, City Information Office, Matagaon Bodong Consultative Council and other key stakeholders to include the Punong Barangays and Department of Education.
The inclusion of the barangays in traffic management she said is one of the common suggestions that came out in survey she conducted using the social media.After a series of consultations, a collaborative teamwork she said will be developed to implement the City Transportation and Traffic Code.
