TABUK CITY, Kalinga- With cases of the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly increasing in this city, the City Inter-Agency Task Force (CIATF) through City Mayor Darwin Estrañero issued Executive Order (EO) No. 60 Series of 2020, temporarily suspending all tourism activities here.
In the EO, all tourism activities and events, as well as tourism sites, shall remain closed until further notice, except tourism accommodation establishments which secured a Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) from the Department of Tourism (DoT).
In a radio interview with City Tourism Officer Arlene Odiem, she said that to get a certificate, tourism establishments should submit a letter of intent to the DoT-CAR.
She also said only those accredited by the DoT can apply for the CAO and appealed to other tourism establishments who are not yet accredited by the DoT to apply first before securing their CAO.
