TABUK CITY, Kalinga – To gain knowledge and insights as Tabuk City embarks on a journey to become a Smart City, department heads and employees join the first ever International Smart City Exposition and Networking Engagement (iSCENE) happening in Cauayan City, Isabela from March 23-25.
Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology, City Government of Cauayan, and Isabela State University, iSCENE brings together local chief executives, government leaders, industries and business players together for knowledge-sharing, connection and network-building for the promotion and implementation of innovative solutions that would be instrumental for the creation of smarter and sustainable communities in the country.
Keynote speaker during the opening ceremony this morning was Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum.
Among the speakers for the first day of the expo are Amb. Bernard M. Dy, Philippine Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and Principality of Liechtenstein; Mr. Kok Chin Tay, Chairman, Smart Cities Network and ASEAN Director for Smart Cities Council; Dr. Non Arkaraprasertkul, Senior Expert Smart City Promotion Department, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) Thailand; Mr. Syed Mubarak, Vice Chairman and Head of ESG Work Group, Smart Cities Network Ltd.
There are also speakers from the National and Economic Development Authority, DOST, and the Development Academy of the Philippines.
During the event, Mayor Darwin Estrañero and Cauayan City Mayor Ceasar Dy Jr. are set to sign a sisterhood agreement to forge an alliance on development initiatives especially on Smart City development.
