TABUK CITY, Kalinga, – Nineteen couples attended a free Barangay Mass Orientation and Counselling on September 28, 2022, at Barangay Cudal in this city.
The participating couples were lectured on marriage and its importance, family planning, responsible parenting, financial management h and other issues.
Doris Pocais, representing Mayor Darwin Estrañero said that the foundation of a good relationship is love, “Love is what makes a relationship work.”
As the relationship develops and grows, it makes sense that couples would want to start a family and the city government is there to help them with this, she further stated.
Pocais also emphasized that while marriage is a lifetime commitment, the couple should be ready to assume the responsibilities of being both husband and wife and parents.
“Masapul takderan tayu inbaga tayu, haan nga nu imbagam nga nu madi mun ket madi mun,” she said.
Pocais concluded by saying that following the counseling, the couple could choose to get married in a church or a civil ceremony.
All 19 couples were given certificates by the City Population Development Commission (POPDEV) following the counseling session.
