TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government received Gawad Parangal Award for its unwavering commitment and support to cooperatives in the city during this year’s Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Gawad Parangal Award ceremony.
City Cooperative Development Officer Catherine Lee Tacwigan Uera, representing Mayor Darwin Estrañero and on behalf of the city, received the award on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Quezon City.
The award highlighted the city government’s contributions to the advancement of local cooperatives “by championing numerous programs like financial support, livelihood assistance, trainings, and the designation of a Cooperative Development Officer (CDO).”
The CDA said it conferred this recognition as “an expression of gratitude for the city’s outstanding efforts in advancing the cooperative movement and fostering socio-economic progress.”
Tabuk is one of only seven component cities and municipalities nationwide awarded in this category, and it is the city’s second time receiving this award.
