TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Personnel from the City Health Services Office (CHSO), City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), and the various Rural Health Units (RHU’s) around the city participated in a 3-day Standard First Aid training from October 18-20, 2023, to further improve the preparedness of the rescue and health personnel from the city to any emergencies, from man-made to natural occurrences.
Charity Puday, DRRM-H Coordinator for the CHSO, said the training should provide participants with the information and abilities necessary to respond to any situation.
She continued by saying that the trainees received instructions on how to react not only to accidents but also to illnesses, snake bites, and insect stings.
Each participant received instruction on how to handle three different types of emergencies: medical emergencies like fevers, head and neck problems, breathing and heart attacks, abdominal problems, and diabetic emergencies; environmental emergencies like allergies, animal bites and insect stings, poisoning, and heat-related problems; and trauma injuries like wounds, burns, and musculoskeletal injuries with special attention to drowning, shock, and special emergencies.
