BAGUIO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera arrested a taxi driver and his cohort in a sting operation last night at Barangay Campo Filipino, Baguio City.
Leonardo S. Mayao, alias Gringo, 30 years old, taxi driver and a resident of Bobon, Virac, Itogon, Benguet was nabbed together with Lowell M. Martin, 35 years old, electrician and a resident of Loakan Liwanag, Baguio City for selling a heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu worth P5,000.00 to a PDEA agent.
Confiscated from them are the buy-bust money, a mobile phone and taxi unit driven by the Mayao for his illegal activities.
Both suspects are temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR jail facility and will be slapped with a case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
The arrest of the suspects came on the heels of successive buy-bust operations orchestrated by PDEA-CAR to eradicate the drug menace in the city of Baguio.
