BAGUIO CITY – A 38-year old tourist guide died after he was repeatedly shot to death by still unidentified assailants along Pinewood St, Crystal Cave, Bakakeng Central here, around 9:30 pm Monday.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Mark Udkin Galvin, 35, single, tourist guide, native of Cavite Province and a resident of Asin Road, Baguio City while the gunmen still remain at large.
Witnesses, particularly Zirad Naga Datumulok, 38, married, taxi driver, native of Lanao Del Sur and a resident of Pinewood Street, Crystal Cave, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City while walking home together with her wife, along the said road when they chanced upon several individuals talking about a person who was reportedly shot earlier. When they moved further ahead, they saw the lifeless body of the victim sprawled on the ground with blood oozing from the different parts of his body prompting him to report the incident to the police.
According to the victim’s live in partner, Mara YakatMalaca (transgender), 36 years old, businessman, native of Nueva Ecija and a resident of Asin Road, Baguio City, they had a misunderstanding for quite sometime and that they have no direct communication until the shooting incident that caused his untimely demise.
Recovered from the crime scene were 1 black helmet; 4 fired cartridge case; 1 black hat; 1 black bullcap; and 1 blue/black bag containing the victim’s personal belongings and drug paraphernalia.
The motive of the victim’s murder is yet uknown and his cadaver was brought to the Bahay Damayan along Marcos highway for him to be given a descent burial.
