SADANGA, Mountain Province – Typhoon-affected barangays in Sadanga received food relief packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on August 25, 2023.
A total of 355 food relief packs were distributed by Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. and other provincial government officials to barangays Anabel (180 boxes) and Saclit (175 boxes).
The distribution of the relief goods was held along the riverside area in Anabel and at the Barangay Hall of Saclit, where each household beneficiary received a box of food relief.
Prior to the distribution, a brief program was held where the constituents were informed about the background and source of the assistance.
In his message, Governor Lacwasan said that reaching out to the people is one part of his program, “Barangay Muna.”
“Maysa nga part ti programa ti ‘Barangay Muna’ ket daytoy reaching out, isu ti gapu na nga adda kami ditoy. Layden mi metlaeng ay pakumusta-en dakayo ta sapay kuma ta men gag-awis tako amin,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice-Governor Francis O. Tauli, Board Members Ezra Samson A., Joshua B. Fronda and other provincial officials were one in supporting the statement of the Governor.
Moreover, Sadanga Councilors Daniel Dawadeo and Alfonso Fattit expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the DSWD and the provincial officials for personally delivering assistance despite their hectic schedules. They also joined in the turnover and distribution of the food relief packs.
Furthermore, Governor Lacwasan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the municipal and barangay governments for the warm welcome, to the DSWD for the assistance, and personnel from the Office of the Governor, Executive Assistants, PSWDO, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Provincial Information Office staff for their assistance and support in the distribution of assistance.
The turnover of the food relief packs was conducted by Governor Lacwasan, together with Vice-Governor Francis O.
