PUDTOL, Apayao – A 40-year old widow died while her 17-year old son was injured after they were fired upon by their neighbor in the latter’s residence at Malibang, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Emiliana Mariano Tuccalay, 40, widow while her injured son was named as Jackriss Tuccalay, 17 and the suspect was identified as Rodrigo Ducrao Tuccalay, 38 years old, single, farmer, all residents of Malibang, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the younger Tuccalay, who was allegedly armed with a bolo, went in the house of the suspect and tried to create trouble.
While doing so, her mother arrived and tried to pacify him and the suspect from further engaging in a commotion but the latter discharged his homemade shotgun that hit the mother and son and inflicting serious injuries on the different parts of their bodies.
The mother and son were rushed to the Far North General |Hospital and Training Center for medical treatment but the older Tuccalay expired while undergoing medical treatment while her son was still undergoing close medical supervision due to the multiple head and body injuries that he sustained as a result of the incident.
