CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet  – Concerned uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera expressed concern over the alleged ‘witch hunting activities’ of the members of the command group to identify those who had been providing the media with information which imperilled their plan to railroad their investigation against embattled SPO3 Alberto C. Tadeo, a devoted traffic officer of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), who apprehended the driver and security escort of their colleague for violating the Baguio city number coding scheme.

Numerous sources who are disgranted over the sloppy decision-making of their superiors but requested anonymity for fear of reprisal, claimed members of the regional command are desperate in identifying uniformed and non-uniformed police personnel who had been commenting in the social media favouring Tadeo and are now digging up their records to find reason to link them to illegal drugs and justify their transfer outside the Cordillera.

“We do not understand why the members of the command group are still trying to cover up the wrong decision of their colleague and the blatant violations of the number coding scheme committed by their driver and security aide which is now causing demoralization among the region’s police force. It is unfortunate that now that non-Cordillerans are leading the PRO-COR such controversial issues are coming out in the open tainting a bad image of the whole organization,” several sources stressed, citing that it is also disgusting to learn that the members of the command group are discreetly investigating their targetted sacrificial lambs to order their trasnfer outside the region to rid them of their critics.

The sources claimed that a top regional official even prevented his superior from answering the resolution declaring him persona non grata and even claimed that he knows numerous national government officials that could pressure the Baguio City councilors to reverse their decision on the matter, not knowing that it took retired Deputy Director-General Benjamin B. Magalong to accompany Senior Superintendent Gregorio Lim to a meeting with City Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan and for him to plead to Councilor Egardo M. Avila to withdraw his persona non grata resolution because he will not be promoted as general once acted upon.

The sources claimed the leadership of Chief Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona was lackluster because he allegedly went to the extent of reportedly covering up the wrongdoing of the subordinates of his fellow official and even advised PRO-COR officials to bully media to reportedly downplay the Tadeo case.

The sources admitted most of the police regiowide sympathize with Tadeo but they just keep quiet on the matter because they might be ordered transferred to an assignment outside the region if they do not adhere to the whims and caprices of the members of the command group.

The sources asserted the members of the command group do not deserve their respect because instead of upholding what is morally and legally right, it seems they are now tolerating what is immoral and illegal done even by lowly policemen not even equal to their ranks.

Whatever! they have reached what they are in now, they should know better, a law is a law! They are corrupt officials, they should be stopped and they don’t deserve retirement benefits because they have corrupted the government for so many years.
