“He was always a quiet and simple boy, he worked hard in school and always got top marks,” Ms. Loida Buslay’s description of her protege. An ordinary young boy, Jan Lymar A. Becte, grade 12 STEM student of Tublay School of Home Industries is one of the top awardees in the recently concluded 2020 National Science and Technology Fair.
His “Innovated Portable Electricity Generator” garnered one of the Top 3 awards in the Science Innovation Expo. He was chosen also as a recipient of Energy Innovation Award given by One Meralco Foundation for his exemplary work in using energy and technology in developing innovative products that helps to address social challenges.
He received certificate of recognition and cash prizes.
His journey to the 2020 National Science and Technology Fair is a long and winding road. He bravely withstand series of defense for his study and go through the array of revisions of his manuscripts. But these challenges does not hamper the young boy’s decision to win. All his efforts paid off and he was able to conquer his stage fright.
With these experiences, courage and full support of the people around him especially his parents and mentors, there is no other way but to the top.
