LA PAZ, Abra August 18 – A 27-year old motorcycle driver died while his two back riders were injured after their motorcycle bumped a gmelina tree on the right side of the road at Pidipid, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jomar Tulfo Laro, 27 years old, married, a resident of barangay Manawis, Lagayan, Abra while his injured back riders were named as Nathaniel Laro Parado, 13 and Aegis Laro Novida, 14, both resident of barangay Manawis, Lagayan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the three were on board the motorcycle when the driver lost control of the steering bar that caused it to ram into the gmelina tree on the right side of the road.
The victims were thrown off their motorcycle and banged their heads and bodies on the concrete pavement and were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but the driver was pronounced dead on arrival while the back riders were undergoing close medical supervision.
