BOKOD, Benguet April 04 – A 66-year old person died while seven others were injured after their vehicle fell off a 125-meter deep ravine along the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya road, particularly at Bobok-Bisal, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Luna Agsawal Ananayo, 66, a resident of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya while the injured vehicle occupants were named as barangay Captain Jaime Fianza Castro, 45, barangay Kagawad Fernando Pallay, 58, both residents of Anayo, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, Clarita Ananayo, 55, a resident of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, Marciana Fianza Dapiawen, 53, a resident of Dupax, Del Sur, Jerry Fianza Tayambong, 41, a resident of Canabang, Dupax, Del Sur. Rojohn Pasigon Tayambong, 15, a resident of Dupax del Sur and the vehicle driver Daniel Dapiawen, 53, a resident of Canabang, Dupax, Del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya..
Initial police investigation showed the ill-fated vehicle was reportedly bound for Adaoay. Kabayan when upon reaching the place of incident, the driver allegedly lost control of the steering wheel causing the vehicle to swerve on the left side of the road before falling off the deep ravine.
Responding police operatives and concerned citizens immediately rushed the victims to the Dennis Molintas Memorial hospital for medical treatment but the injured passengers were referred to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for further medical treatment.
