KIANGAN, Ifugao – A 55-year old farmer died while seven persons were injured when an ill-fated mini-dump truck rammed a number of individuals who were in front of a store at sitio Dangay Bolog, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Eddie Luking Dupingay, 55, married, farmer, resident of Hoba, Bolog, Kiangan, Ifugao while the injured individuals were named as Rustom Puguon Buhungan, 22, single; Roldan Puguon Buhungan, 18, grade 8 student; Viena Dumulag Lumaho, 38, widower, farmer; Delfin Pinkihan Pablo Jr., and 5, kinder; Martin Tuguinay Longtoy, helper, OSY; Allan Tuguinay Pepe, 18, OSY, all residents of Danghay, Bolog, Kiangan, Ifugao; and Raymar Bumidang Dulnuan, 18, grade 12 student and resident of Alupapan, Pugol, Lamut, Ifugao.
The ill-fated mini-dump truck with conduction sticker no. 030103 in own by Ranjet Singh, driven by Marlon Costales Tucay, 23, single, driver with professional driver’s, native of Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya presently residing at Sitio Dugong, Tungngod, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that the ill-fated mini-dump truck came from Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and was proceeding to Lagawe town proper when the steering wheel allegedly locked that caused the driver to lose control of the same until it bumped the victims who were in front of a store in the area.
The victims were rushed to the Panudpudan District Hospital for medical treatment while some of them were transferred to the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Nueva Vizcaya for further medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle is now under the custody of the Kiangan Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
