More than one thousand four hundred amateur golfers from the Asia-Pacific region will be joining the 73rd edition of the Januarius Fil-Am invitational amateur golf tournament that will be held at the Baguio Country Club (BCC) and Camp John Hay (CJH) golf courses from November 22 to December 20, 2023.
CJH Golf Club general manager Judson Eustaquio said that there will be 252 teams that are registered to join this year’s seniors and regular divisions of the longest running amateur golf tournament in the Asia-Pacific region while there are 138 other teams that have been placed in the waiting list.
He added that for the first time in six years, the tournament will have a title sponsor in Januarius Holdings, an asset management company, which illustrates the sustained growth of the tournament through the years.
The Fil-Am invitational golf tournament co-chairman claimed that this year’s attendees exceeded the 1,430 golfers and the 246 teams that joined the 72nd edition of the tournament last year.
He assured the players that the BCC and CJH golf courses will be ready in time for the tournament that will spice up the Yuletide season in the city.
For his part, BCC general manager Anthony de Leon stipulated that the exclusive club acquired some 40 golf carts that will provide the players with a wonderful experience playing in the BCC course during the duration of the tournament.
Further, de Leon disclosed that the club’s newly renovated rooms will also be opened in time for the influx of visitors during the Fil-Am invitational golf tournament aside from showcasing the first smart room.
He said that the BCC rooms underwent the appropriate renovation over the past six months and that the same will be opened in time for the influx of visitors during the conduct of the amateur golf tournament next month.
Januarius Holdings, Inc. chairman and chief executive officer LL Atencio expressed the company’s desire to be the title sponsor of this year’s edition of the Fil-Am golf which is one of the grandest amateur golf competitions in the Asia Pacific region.
He revealed that the company also has investments in real estate and golf that is why it is also trying to venture in sports to help in advancing its business interest.
