Two members of different local drug groups were arrested by combined anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera together with local police earlier today.
Arnold Tinasa Tage, a 45-year old resident of Upper Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet was collared at Pacdal, Baguio City around 5:30 in the afternoon when he sold a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with a street value of P5,147.00 to an undercover agent.
Upon his arrest, Tage yielded the buy-bust money and a mobile phone used during the transaction.
An hour after, another team of PDEA-CAR agents together with local police nabbed Jerold Bulwag Valdez when he sold two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P1,000.00 to a poseur-buyer at Campo Filipino, Baguio City.
Valdez, a 24-year old drug surrenderer and a resident of the same barangay, yielded the money used during the sting operation after his arrest.
Both suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR jail facility pending the filing of criminal cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
