La Trinidad, Benguet – Two suspected drug pushers fall in separate buy bust operations as the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) showed its firm stand on the strict implementation of its campaign against illegal drugs in the region that led to the decreasing number of drug violators.
The two drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust operations by combined operating units of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Drug Enforcement Unit of BCPO in coordination with PDEA-CAR.
On June 18, Romeo Abucay Tan, 54, a STL Collector and a resident of Molave Drive, Asin, Baguio City was nabbed along Lower Mabini St., Baguio City, yielding one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; cash money amounting to Php1,000.00; and Php9,000,00 boodle money.
On June 19, Joel Bagtang Appag aka “Hogler”, 47, butcher, native of Agbannawag, Tabuk, Kalinga was nabbed at NAPO Lodge, Kayang Hilltop, Baguio City. Confiscated from him were four (4) sachets of shabu with an estimated total weight of 2.5 grams worth Php17,500.00; another four (4) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined weight of suspected shabu, Php500.00 buy-bust money, Php6,500.00 boodle money and assorted drug paraphernalia,
Both arrested suspects together with the seized items are now under the custody of the concerned operating units while cases of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against them in court.
