This year, the Philippines submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) to address climate change, in time for the COP21: Paris Climate Conference in December where the consolidated commitments of the countries will be discussed and negotiated on. The Philippine business community supports the Government’s on this submission and has formally signed a Manila Declaration in support of the INDCS.
The Climate Change Commission (CCC) in partnership with its low Emission Capacity Building Philippine (LECB PHL) Project, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE), is conducting the 3rd Business Summit on Climate Change with the theme: Towards an Aligned Strategy on Climate Change”. The Summit which will be held on November 24, 2015, 8:00 AM-5:00PM at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City is part of the annual Climate Change Consciousness Week celebration being spearheaded by CCC on November 19-15, 2014.
The event aims to build on the Manila Declaration and forge strategic partnerships between the public and private sector to develop the market for environment & climate-friendly goods and services, and to promote investments on climate-smart industries that contribute to economic development and climate change mitigation and/or adaptation by initiating dialogues and prompting resultant actions.
