BAGUIO CITY – Some two hundred twenty one golfers actively participated in the annual staging of the Atty. Mauricio G. Domogan Golf for a Cause that was recently held at the Camp John Hay (CJH) golf course last October 20-21, 2023.
The 2-day golf tourney was geared towards raising funds to help in sustaining the implementation of the civic projects of various organizations that benefit from the annual staging of the said event.
Proceeds of the tournament were donated to the Philippine Red Cross, Baguio Host Lions Club, Baguio Everlasting Lion’s Club, seminarians c/o the Episcopal Church, Brotherhood of St. Andrews, various indigent students and Palliative Care of indigent patients.
George Punasen emerged as the overall champion of the tournament while Richard Nibaten got the award for nearest to the pin. The award for longest drive went to David Punasen while Bogs Comia bagged the trophy for the Most Accurate Drive.
Atty. Harry Paltongan emerged as champion in the Men’s Class A edging out Leonard Corpuz in a count back and second runner-up La Trinidad Councilor Guiller Galwan.
In the men’s Class B, Donny Barleen emerged as the champion followed by first runner-up Prosecutor Edwin Sagsago and second runner-up Ceasar Santana.
Lawyer Patrick ‘Villanueva bagged the championship trophy in the men’s Class C followed by first runner-up Tito Abansi and second runner-up Christian Dee.
In the Seniors Division A, Richard Nibaten took home the championship trophy followed by first runner-up Ed Basbas and second runner-up Ruben Yaris.
Andy Soriano emerged the champion in the Seniors Division B followed by first runner-up Fred Dacyon and second runner-up Ross Reyes
In the Ladies Division, Oh Kyung Ja bagged the championship trophy while Kang Hyun Mi settled as first runner-up and Susan Ante settled for second runner-up.
In the Friendship Division, Joseph Pinero emerged as the champion followed by first tune-up Son Kyeong Joo and second runner-up Valfrie Tabjan.
Domogan expressed his gratitude to all the sponsors, players, caddies and golf enthusiasts who, in one way or the other, contributed in the successful staging of the annual golf tournament that is geared towards raising funds to sustain the implementation of civic projects of various organizations that benefit from the said event.
He assured that he will continue to extend whatever assistance to civic groups in his private capacity for the same to be able to sustain the implementation of their projects that help uplift the lives of indigent people.
