TANUDAN, Kalinga – A 25-bed health facility is expected to rise in this municipality in the future to help in cascading to the grassroots the delivery of quality health care services for the welfare of the majority of the populace.
Mayor Jaedick Rhoss P. Dagadag said that the initial construction of the district hospital already commenced with an initial funding of P5 million from the provincial government and another P40 million that was part of the proceeds of a loan that was obtained by the province for the realization of the health facility right in the heart of the municipality.
He claimed that the counterpart of the municipal government in the said partnership is the more than 2,000 -square meter lot where the hospital’s structure is being constructed that will guarantee the availability of quality health services for the people in the municipality and other neighboring towns.
The local chief executive disclosed that the provincial government needs more than P100 million to complete the put up of the said health facility that is why the provincial government is doing its best to closely work with concerned government agencies for the provision of the needed funding support for their realization of the completed hospital in the said locality.
According to him, the municipal government remains optimistic that the provincial government will be able to source out the sufficient funds to be able to complete the construction and make the hospital operation in the next several years so that residents will be able to avail of quality health services so that they do not need to travel to Tabuk City to be able to be treated for their illnesses.
Mayor Dagadag stated that the availability of quality health care services in low income municipalities will definitely contribute in the implementation of the government’s universal health care program and make available the appropriate services to the people in the countryside to reduce incidents of unwanted mortality among the populace for their failure to be provided with the treatment for their illnesses.
He pointed out that people in the countryside need access to quality health care services from health facilities, thus, the ongoing construction of the proposed district hospital in the municipality is a big boost in the government’s effort to bring the health care services closer to the beneficiaries in the rural areas.
The mayor said that the municipal government will closely monitor the ongoing construction of the hospital’s structure to ensure that it will be implemented based on project specifications and standards so that the healthy facility will be compliant to prescribed guidelines in the operation of district hospitals that will be operated by the provincial government in collaboration with the municipal government through the municipal health office.
He stipulated that the municipal government Tanudan is one of the sites of the proposed district hospital that will be operated by the province and that the health facility is strategically located right in the heat of the municipality to be able to cater to the health care needs of the people wanting to avail of the said services from the facility nearest to them for them to remain healthy and productive citizens of the community.
