Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – Abra cops arrested eight (8) individuals for engaging in a illegal cockfighting activity and seized over Php 24k worth of bet money at Sitio Baddec, Brgy. Palao, Bangued, Abra in the afternoon of July 4, 2021.
Citing reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the eight (8) arrested suspects were identified as Rolando B Borreto, 62; Augusto D Marciano; Hener B Bersamina, 36; Mark Glenn A Pilotin, 20; Marlito R Tabernilla, 32; Rotsen B Bayquen, 22; Chester Rey B Blando, 20; and Raul S Berona, 50 who are all residents of Abra.
According to the same report, operatives of Bangued MPS and 1504th MC of RMFB15 launched an anti-illegal gambling operation after receiving a report from a concerned citizen regarding an on-going illegal cockfighting activity in the said place
Further, operatives seized four (4) dead fighting cocks; one (1) leather gaffle case containing three gaffles; six (6) chicken boxes; and Php 24,320.00 worth of bet money.
Arrested suspects were brought to Bangued MPS for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 is being prepared against the suspects. (PROCOR-PIO)
